Discussion on the draft amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus

18.01.2022
Employees of JSC "ALEVKURP" together with representatives of the Trade Union "BELPROFMASH" discussed the draft amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus.

The draft amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus in these January days is the main topic for discussion in labor collectives. What changes are expected by ordinary Belarusians, what vector of development of the country's economy will become a priority, the employees of JSC "ALEVKURP" discussed.

The meeting was opened by the director of JSC "ALEVKURP" Novak V.A., noting that despite the busy work schedule in recent months, the team cannot stay away from the most important political event of the country - the upcoming changes to the basic Law of the Republic of Belarus.

The speakers of the open dialogue were representatives of the regional organization of the trade union "BELPROFMASH": Vasenkov Yury Mikhailovich and Malashchenko Andrey Petrovich.

At the meeting with the labor collective, it was noted that changes and additions to the Basic Law of the Republic of Belarus are objectively overdue. The image of the new Constitution was formed not at once. The head of state has repeatedly noted that it is the Belarusians who have to determine how they see the Basic Law of the country. From February 11 to 12, 2021, the VI All-Belarusian People's Assembly was held in the country, where the issue of amending the Constitution was also raised.

The document stipulates that Belarus must remain a sovereign country, external influence is unacceptable. The country must continue to remain socially oriented and rely on the principles of democracy. It is proposed to give additional powers to the parliament, to give the All-Belarusian People's Assembly a constitutional status. This will make it possible to hear the voice of every Belarusian.
Many questions related to the composition and work of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly, which will include 1200 delegates who will represent different spheres of power (executive, legislative, judicial), and civil society will also be represented.

“I am sure that the trade unions will also find their place in the composition of the delegates of the WPC,” Andrey Malashchenko noted. “This is a truly significant body, relying on which it will be possible to make important decisions for the future and further build our country.”

“The National Center for Legal Information (website: pravo.by) summarizes all proposals for updating the Constitution in real time with daily analysis,” Yury Mikhailovich Vasenkov recalled. “Everyone can express their thoughts and ideas.”
At the end of the meeting, the chairman of the Regional Organization of Minsk and the Minsk Region of the Trade Union "BELPROFMASH" Yury Vasenkov talked to members of the trade union at their workplaces.
